You can reuse regular babywipes by just washing them with your cloth diapers. I take them straight out of the dryer in a big ball and get them wet and put them in a wipe warmer. They can be washed again and again. My favoriots are the Costco Kirkland wipes, but I have re-used huggies as well.

I have a question. I counted the inches on the "sized diaper pattern" and the small is larger than the medium.

I had a bunch of old towels that were at the bottom of the stack in the linen closet (because they had holes and stains) so I just cut and sewed soakers out of those. No need to buy any fabric:) I also made many stuffable cloth diapers out of old flannel shirts and T-shirts and then used snappi fasteners and bummis covers. The scraps from those, like the sleeves and such, made great wipes and diaper liners for when you need the diaper rash ointment (which is not all that often if diapers are changed shortly after they are soiled).

I made extra wipes that are now used as hankies (from the t-shirts and flannels).

Cloth diapers have saved us a ton of money and our daycare provider is fine with them. She just changes our little one and puts the dirtys in a waterproof bag. We do not ask her to rinse them at all. We take them home every night and wash them up. We did not use them right away - we waited for the "stump" to fall off (about 3-4 weeks).

We do use disposables when our little one has diarrhea (so we do not have to use bleach) or when we will be gone from home for more than 2 days.

I would recommend a sprayer on your toilet. We use it for 101 things around the house too. It has been so handy.

Hope this is of interest.

Ellen,

The waterproof material on bed pads can be a couple different things. There is PUL (polyuerthane laminate, usually polyester fabric) and Procare. I have found decent prices on PUL at these sites:

www.sewzannesfabrics.com
www.celticclothswholesale.com
www.wazoodle.com

Another waterproof fabric is Procare, which you will only find at Wazoodle. I hope this helps.
