Baby Love’s Wipe Solution
* Please note, read all of the instructions first. For every cup of water, you will be using1 -tablespoon EACH oil and soap. For your first batch of solution, use your own babywash (baby magic,store brand, etc.) and regular baby oil. You will need to experiment some to figure out how many cups of water you need for your container of wipes. Also, PLEASE NOTE!!!!! when the baby oil is added to the mix, it can overflow, so use common sense and remove the heat source first, I made the mistake of not using mine the first time and made a terrible mess! After you gain some experience, you can experiment with alternative oils, scraping bar soaps, using a cheesecloth with beneficial herbs,(simmer slowly to leech essential oils before adding to final product), use your imagination…….
1) in a much larger pot than you believe is necessary, ( the oil may make this solution fizz!) bring the water to a boil
2) lower heat and slowly stir in your soap-do not return to hard boil
3) remove from heat and slowly add the oil
4) allow to cool to warm before adding to your container of wipes
I have used the same two tupperware type containers for my diy wipes. I have used apricot baby massage oil, olive oil, regular baby oil, almond massage oil,etc. for the oils. they all have worked well.
I have added up to five drops of pure essential oils such as rose, geranium, and chamomile, all with success.
I have scraped the following bar soaps dove, and a clear glycerine style soap, both performed well.
I have simmered a cheesecloth with some oatmeal in a small amount of water which I added to the final solution as well as squeezing out the cloth into the water. This worked for a friend’s rash dilemma. Please keep in mind that different rashes respond differently to different additives. For example, a yeast infection rash will grow worse with anything containing sugars (like oatmeal).
I have used many babybath products with different scents. The bottom line is what works for your baby’s bum in the tub will work for their bum in their wipes.
